Testimonial

I now believe in magic, or if not in magic, in letting Sarah stick needles in me, here and there and everywhere--in the name of pain relief and preventative medicine.

I'd never given acupuncture a second thought until a muscle injury sidelined me...She was friendly and informative and eased my reservations (which were in fact few: I'm not afraid of needles, but was more concerned that my high level skepticism would render the treatments ineffective) before commencing the pin-pricking.

I went back to Sarah three times after my initial treatment, and each time, my discomfort decreased by degree. Unbelievable!

Doubting Toms, cast aside your distrust and give acupuncture--and Sarah--a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised. It's painless. --Hannah J.

Sarah Halverstadt, M.S., L.Ac., Dipl. OM

She is a California state and national licensed practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  She completed her graduate degree at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.  Her general practice includes acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, cupping, nutritional counseling and moxibustion.  She certified in the Martha Lucas Mei Zen facial rejuvenation acupuncture system.  Sarah has lately been studying Kiiko Matsumoto Style Acupuncture, a dynamic form of Japanese acupuncture that provides instant feedback through a system of palpation.  She is also interested in women's health and fertility medicine.

Sarah currently volunteers her time and services at the Charolette Maxwell Complementary Clinic, a health clinic that offers services and treatment to low income women with cancer.

About Me?

My passion is preventative medicine (aka, health care), so naturally my focus is educating patients about their bodies and inspiring them to develop skills for assessing their own health.  Mostly I like to take the fear out of  “being healthy” and “living a balance life” by suggesting an experiment here and there.  So often we put too much weight on being perfect or operating from an all-or-nothing paradigm that leads to feelings of failure, frustration and disconnection from our bodies (think dieting).  The outcome is a hardening resistance to change and healing.

The juiciness of living returns when we begin to experiment with ourselves and enjoy the process of seeing what engenders health in our bodies and our lives.
