Acupuncture , 2000 years of practical development.  The basic idea behind acupuncture is that the insertion of very fine needles into points along the Meridians can rebalance bodily disharmonies.  The action of the needles affects the Qi and Blood in the Meridians .  The needles can reduce what is excessive, increase what is deficient, warm what is cold, cool what is hot, circulate what is stagnant, move what is congealed, stabilize what is reckless, raise what is falling, and lower what is rising.

Cupping utilizes a vacuum suction either glass or plastic cups to move Qi and Blood , dispel Dampness, Wind and Heat.   Cupping is useful for muscle injury and pain, joint pain, bronchial congestion, common cold, and headache.

Moxibustion is the application of heat from burning certain herbal substances on or near the acupuncture points.  Primarily mugwort, Artemisia vulgaris , is used.  Moxa is useful for tonifying deficient conditions, moving stagnant Qi and Blood , and dispelling Cold in the Meridians .

Nutrition is a big part of Chinese Medicine.  It's not so important how food tastes but how it feels inside your belly & body.  This is called "feeling your appetite."  When you start to really notice how food affects you, you may begin to notice your body craving  vegetables!  Once you do, you're going to want to visit these places:

Insurance

Patients wishing to have their insurance cover all or a portion of their treatments should contact their insurance provider to understand their coverage policies with respect to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.

I work with a number of insurance companies by providing my patients with a superbill upon request.  A superbill is an invoice of your visit with the standardized ICD-9 codes necessary for insurance reimbursement.  This process requires the patient to pay out-of-pocket for the full treatment cost at the time of the visit.  Thereafter, the superbill can be submitted by the patient to their insurance provider for full or partial reimbursement depending on the policy.  Patients wishing to make use of this service should check with their insurance carriers to be sure that Superbills are accepted.

Superbills may also be provided to patients who have Flex-spending accounts, HSA accounts, or are self-employed and would like to use their receipt for tax health expenses.

Gift Certificates

Give the gift of health and beauty to family, co-workers, employees, friends, and loved ones!

Gift Certificates are available for one or more acupuncture session.  They may be purchased for any amount.

Certificates must be presented at time of service.  They may be transferred to a person of the recipient’s choice, but may not be redeemed for cash or credit.
